Veena Tattva Prakashika V, the 5th edition of the International Veena Conference, is set to take place from January 17 to 19, 2024, at B-2 Auditorium, PES University, Bangalore. Dedicated to the divine instrument Veena, the conference is a unique initiative conceived by Narasimha Dasa, Vainika, and Madhukaram Prashanth Iyengar, Executive Director of Sreerama Centre of Performing Arts, Bengaluru. The event, organized in association with PES University and Powered by Kalpavriksha Charitable Trust, aims to explore the historical and scientific aspects of the Veena, preserving the rich Vainika Sampradaya tradition.

Key Highlights:

Inauguration: The conference will commence on January 17, 2024, at 6:45 PM, with a Veena concert by Vidwan Sreerama Iyengar, accompanied by Vidwan Karthik on Mridangam and Vidwan Dayananda Mohite on Ghatam.

Inauguration Ceremony: Chief guests include Shri M N Venkatachalaiah, Retd. Honourable Chief Justice of India, and Dr. M R Doreswamy, Ex MLC, Founder Chairman of PES Institutions. Guests of honor include Dr. Surya Prasad, Vice-Chancellor, PES University, Vidvān Dr. T.T. Srinivasan, Violin Maestro, and other esteemed personalities.

Book Release: Groundbreaking research works related to human body adaptation to instrument playing will be launched, including "The Science of Playing Veena" by Vidwan Prashanth Iyengar and "My First Pluck" by Vidwan Dr. B.K. Durga Prasad. Renowned doctors and musicians will review the books.

Concerts: Renowned artists like Vidushi Emani Kalyani, Smt. Padmini Pasumarthy, Vidushi Charulata, Vidwan R.A. Dakshinamurthy, Vidushi Dr. Geetha Bhat, Vidwan Ananta Padmanabhan, and others will grace the event.

Academic Sessions: Explore historical, musicological, and scientific aspects related to the ancient instrument Veena. Special sessions include "Anahata Nada Yogaabhyasa Kriya," integrating Veena notes into pranayama and meditation.

Day 2 & 3: Feature Nada Yoga Pranayama, Veena duets, solo concerts, and academic presentations by eminent musicians and doctors.

Valedictory Function: Held in the divine presence of His Holiness Sri Sri Vidyasrisha Tirtha Swamigal, Sri Vyasaraja Mutt. Chief guest: Dr. Nagamani Srinath; Guests of honor include Vidwan Dr. R.S. Nandakumar, Vidwan D. Balakrishna, Vidwan Dudu Seetharamaiah, Smt. Tejaswini Ananth Kumar, Sri S. Naresh Kumar, and Dr. V. Krishna.

Awards: Titles such as "Sri Padma Vainika Vibhushini," "Sri Padma Vainika Tattva Vibhushana," and "Sri Padma Veena Nada Vibhushini" will be conferred to Smt. Revathi Srinivasan, Vidwan Ananta Padmanabhan, and Vidushi Emani Kalyani, respectively.
